LA is my spirit animal. The light, the day long dreamy haze that carries a surrealist almost noir feel that is so easy to fall into and yet so very difficult to shake. The moment we started shooting I felt why David Lynch fell in love with this city and why it became his endless muse time and time again.
Avery possesses a classic cool about her invoking James Dean while at the very same moment appearing to step out of a painting by Francesco Clemente. He would certainly be enamoured. These two striking visual spectrums came together on Melrose with the classic denim jean and little leather jacket in tow. Full of moody noir overtones and youthful movement this sunny LA story emerged.
